Problem

When Let’s Encrypt announced it would retire expiry emails, it left millions of certificate holders—especially small site owners—without a simple way to stay secure. They needed a lightweight, free solution. Fast.

Solution

Red Sift saw this as an opportunity to turn a utility into an experience. My team stripped away complexity and reimagined certificate monitoring from the ground up. The result? Certificates Lite—a frictionless, free tool that feels as effortless as the certificates it protects. From information architecture to onboarding flow, every interaction was designed to make proactive security accessible to everyone.

Impact and results

Since launch, thousands of users have adopted Certificates Lite as their go-to replacement for expiry alerts. With Let’s Encrypt, we’re not just filling a gap—we’re designing for impact at internet scale, helping anyone stay protected by default.
